Spanish is offered in grades 7-12. To obtain Regents credit for a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation, a student must complete three units in a language other than English and successfully complete a NYS Regents Equivalent Assessment at the end of the third unit.
Spanish I, 1 Unit
Students learn simple structures of the language such as verb forms, adjective forms and articles. Various groups of common vocabulary are covered such as: the house, foods, sports, clothing, health, and travel. Reading and writing will be based on material learned audio-linguistically. The basic program is a textbook with accompanying materials, and involves regular assessments.

Hispanic/Latinx Cultures, 1/2 Unit
Students will have a wonderful opportunity to explore the Hispanic/Latinx cultures. We will examine the history, geography, people, music, customs, sports, food, and hopefully many other topics. Although language is not a requirement for this class, we WILL be using some Spanish throughout, as it is a main part of the culture.
